Like many other animals, cows have their young in the spring season, as there is more food available (rain = lush grass) and the temperatures are slowly on the up, so their is more chance of survival. The more grass the cow eats, the more milk it can provide for their calfs. The fact many animals have their young in this season is the reason we see it as a time of 'rebirth and renewal".
